History - The Hall Film Library

Hall Film Library In addition to hundreds of letters and photos, Brucemore's archives house a unique collection of home movies. The Hall Film Library consists of over 23,000 feet of 16 mm film taken by Howard Hall from circa 1928 to 1960. The films depict scenes common in most family home movies: vacations, pets, family members, and memorable occasions. However, the films also capture experiences available to the Halls through their position in society. For example, they include images of Herbert Hoover's 1928 campaign stop at Brucemore, Nile Kinnick working at a football practice as assistant coach after winning the Heismann trophy, and rare behind-the-scenes footage of Gone with the Wind.
