The National Trust Celebrates Preservation Month Since the National Trust created Preservation Week in 1971 to spotlight grassroots preservation efforts around the country, it has grown into an annual celebration observed by small towns and big cities. Preservation Month has served as a showcase for local communities to honor their past and help build their future for more than three decades.

Ever wonder what is behind the closed doors of the Brucemore mansion? Or what it might be like to sneak into the attic or the organ pipe room? Or to hear the rain in the Tahitian Room? This is your chance! This special tour will give visitors the opportunity to see the mansion from the inside out and learn about the architecture and technology involved in its construction, as well as an insider’s glimpse into the daily lives of its residents.
Led by Executive Director Jim Kern, this 90 minute tour will expand upon the regular mansion tour by including a walk around the house to discuss architecture features, in addition to the basement storage areas, organ pipe room, archive and collections rooms, and the attic.
